Obtain a Business Visa
VALIDITY OF VISA: The validity of this visa is up to 3 months (both single entry and double entry) as shown on the ENTER BEFORE date on a visa stamp. That means you must enter Vanuatu BEFORE that date. VALIDITY OF STAY: The period of stay per entry to be granted is determined by the immigration authorities at any immigration checkpoints upon arrival.

CONDITIONS 

• Possession of a visa does not entitle the bearer to enter upon arrival at port of entry if he or she is found inadmissible;

• Each application is considered on its individual merit and may be rejected without the VIS having to provide any reason;

• Visa processing fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Obtain an extended Visitors Visa
  • Who should use this form?
  • Use this form if you are in Vanuatu or outside Vanuatu and are applying for a visa to visit Vanuatu for more than 30 days but less than 12 months for the purposes of an extended holiday, to work, undertake research, or participate in missionary activities.
  • You should also use this form if you have lodged an application with the Vanuatu Investment and Promotion Authority (VIPA) as a foreign investor that has not been finally determined. It is important that you maintain a lawful status in Vanuatu while awaiting the outcome of your application. Please provide details of the purpose of your intended visit at Question 15 and provide necessary supporting evidence with your application.
  • One form should be completed by each applicant.
  • The exact visa application charge must accompany the application in Vatu, by bank cheque made out to Vanuatu Immigration or via international money transfer (if you are outside Vanuatu when you apply).
  • Visitors to Vanuatu must be willing to abide by the following visa conditions:
    • the visa hold er must comply with all laws of Vanuatu;
    • the visa holder must not behave in a manner that is prejudicial to peace, good order, good government or public morality in Vanuatu; and

Obtain an Interim Visa
Who should use this form?
  • Use this form if you are outside Vanuatu and are applying for a n interim visa to enter Vanuatu for up to 4 months for the purposes of work, undertake research, or participate in missionary activities.

PERMANENT RESIDENCE VISA expand_more expand_less
Obtain a Permanent Residence Visa

This visa has five faces altogether and they are categorised in two parts that are listed as follows

Part A, subclass 131.

Subclass 131, this visa product can be granted to any one that his/her parents are Ni Vanuatu or Ni Vanuatu descent or anyone who has been residing in Vanuatu for the last 12 month and have to apply to the office of the director of Vanuatu Immigration Services using VIS prescribed form 3-0 that is available in this website.

Part B, subclass 132-135

This Visa product is establish to accommodate any serious investor who seriously intended to invest in Vanuatu however, the benefits are more gorgeous compare to the normal Vanuatu resident visa since the requirements are tough and any interested applicant must apply to the office of the director of Vanuatu Immigration Services using VIS prescribed form 3-1 that is available in this website.

Obtain a Residence Visa

Who should use this form?

  • Use this form if you are in Vanuatu or outside of Vanuatu and are applying for a visa to reside in Vanuatu for more than 12 months. There are six different grounds on which a residence visa may be granted. The main applicant must satisfy the criteria of one of the grounds outlined below to be eligible for the grant of a resi dence visa. Evidence as specified on the visa application checklist must be provided.
  • You may include your spouse (married or defacto) in your application. You may include dependent children in your Residence visa application unless you are applying for a Residence visa as a Self Funded Resident.

1. Partner

  • You are married to or are living in a genuine, de facto relationship with a Vanuatu citizen, or
  • you were married to or living in a genuine de facto relationship with a Vanuatu citizen at the time of his or her death and either have children that are citizens of Vanuatu, or were in that marriage or de facto relationship for at least 5 years.

2. Child

  • You are the dependent child of a Vanuatu citizen.

3. Employee

  • You are an employee, or have accepted employment, from a business operating in Vanuatu for a period of at least 12 months.

4. Self funded resident

  • You have an income certified by a bank operating in Vanuatu of at least 250 000 vatu per month, or 500 000 vatu per month if you are including your spouse or de facto partner in your application, or
  • If you were the holder of a residence permit on the basis of being a self funded retiree prior to 7 February 2011 have an income certified by a bank operating in Vanuatu of at least 150 000 vatu per month, or 30 0 000 vatu per month if you are including your spouse or defacto partner in your application.

5. Foreign Investor

  • You have been issued with an approval certificate by the Vanuatu Investment and Promotion Authority (VIPA) as a 'foreign investor', and 
  • If the foreign investor certificate issued by VIPA indicates that you will be operating a business in Vanuatu, a business license issued by the relevant official body.

6. Land Owner

  • You have leasehold ownership of a property in Vanuatu with a value of 10 mill ion vatu or more, and
  • you have an income certified by a bank operating in Vanuatu of at least 250 000 vatu per person included in the application.
  • Only one form needs to be completed by the applicant and any family members who intend to accompany the applicant to Vanuatu. You may include your spouse (married or de facto) in your application. You can include a dependent child in your application if you are applying on the grounds of being a Partner, Child, Employee, Foreign Investor or Land Owner. You can not include a dependent child if you are applying on the grounds of being Self Funded
  • The exact visa application charge must accompany the application in Vatu, by bank cheque made out to Vanuatu Immigration or via international money transfer, if you are outside Vanuatu when you apply.
  • Residents must be willing to abide by the following general visa conditions:
    • The visa holder must comply with all laws of Vanuatu;
    • The visa holder must not behave in a manner that is prejudicial to peace, good order, good government or public morality in Vanuatu; and
    • The visa holder must inform Vanuatu Immigration of any significant changes in his or her personal or financial circumstances.

And the following specific visa conditions:

    • Partner Residence visa: the main applicant must continue to be legally married to, or in a de facto relationship, with the same citizen of Vanuatu on which basis the visa was granted, unless the citizen of Vanuatu is deceased.
    • Child Residence visa : the main applicant must continue to be a dependent child of a citizen of Vanuatu.
    • Employee Residence visa : the main applicant must continue to be an employee of the business operating in Vanuatu on which basis the visa was granted and the visa holder has been given permission to commence or continue working in Vanuatu under the Labour (Work Permits Act) [CAP 187]
    • Self funded Residence visa: the main applicant continues to receive the monthly required income.
    • Foreign Investor Residence visa: the main applicant continues to hold valid foreign investor approval certificate issued by VIPA and a valid business licence issued by the relevant official body if conditional on issue of VIPA approval certificate.
    • Land Owner Residence visa : the main applicant continues to receive the monthly required income and continues to have leasehold ownership of the property concerned.

Obtain a Special Category Visa
Who should use this form?
  •  Use this form if you are applying for a Special Category visa t o come to Vanuatu as a diplomatic representative, employee of the Government of Vanuatu or on secondment to the Government, or if you intend to work for an approved donor agency. A Special Category visa may be granted for a period of up to five years .
  •  Only one form needs to be completed by the applicant and any family members included in the application. You may include your spouse (married or defacto) and any dependent children in your application.
  •  There is no visa application charge payable for a Special Category visa.
  •  People granted a Special Category visa must be willing to abide by the following visa conditions:
    •  the visa holder must comply with all laws of Vanuatu;
    •  the visa holder must not behave in a manner that is prejudicial to peace, good order, good government or public morality in Vanuatu;
    •  the visa holder must inform Vanuatu Immigration of any significant changes in his or her personal or financial circumstances;
    • the holder of the visa must not cease to undertake the activity on the basis of which his or her visa was granted; and
    •  the holder of the visa must not engage in any employment or commercial or business activities unless the employment or business or commercial activities are the basis of which his or her visa was granted.

Obtain a Student Visa
Who should use this form?
  • Use this form if you are in Vanuatu or outside Vanuatu and are applying for a Student visa to study in Vanuatu for a period of up to one year. If your course of study is longer than one year you will need to apply for a new Student visa each year.
  • Only one form needs to be completed by the student applicant and any family members who intend to accompany the student to Vanuatu. You may include your spouse (married or defacto) and any dependent children in your application.
  • The exact visa application charge in Vatu must accompany the application. The charge may be paid in cash, by bank cheque or via international money transfer.
  • You are exempt from paying the visa application charge if you are:
    • a student studying at the University of the South Pacific (USP) or the Australia Pacific Technical College (APTC) on a scholarship provided by a Government of a country, USP or APTC; and
    • are a citizen or national of Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga or Tuvalu.
  • Overseas students in Vanuatu must be willing to abide by the following Student visa conditions:
    • the visa holder must comply with all laws of Vanuatu;
    • the visa holder must not behave in a manner that is prejudicial to peace, good order, good government or public morality in Vanuatu;
    • the visa holder must not commence or continue in any paid employment or commercial business activities in Vanuatu unless they are required as part of the students course of study;
    • the visa holder must inform Vanuatu Immigration of any significant changes in his or her personal or financial circumstances; and
    • the student must continue to study for the duration of the visa.

Obtain a Transit Visa
Who should use this form?
  • Use this form if you are applying for a Transit visa to pass through Vanuatu in transit to another country and do not intend to leave the “proclaimed area” at an airport. If a ‘stopover’ is intended you will need to apply for a Visitor visa.
  • One form should be completed by each applicant.
  • A visa application charge is pay able for a Transit visa. The exact visa application charge must accompany the application in Vatu, via bank cheque made out to Vanuatu Immigration, or via international money transfer (if you are outside Vanuatu when you apply).
  • People granted a Transit visa must be willing to abide by the following visa conditions:
    • The holder of the visa must remain in a proclaimed area and not enter Vanuatu; and
    • The holder of the visa is not permitted to make an application for any other visa.
